If people like; George Clooney, or Catherine Zeta-Jones are "what Hollywood's about". Then  people like Rahtut that is; what Bali is all about. It wouldn't be right to try and compare the two places in the same way, but the world is a beautiful place, and as is said; 'each to their own'. I also know that when Rahtut reads this he would say in his own way, how flattered he would be to be compared to such great names, Rahtut would call it; "a compliment", and I say why not, for me Bali is one of the most Beautiful places on earth and those who know would also agree. Its beauty is almost magical and its the people of Bali with their magical spirit that contributes to making you fall in love with Bali. I wouldn't know if its a spell, but what I do know, is that, there is something about Bali, that makes me can't get enough of it, and want to come back for more. I have done 5 trips to Bali to date, and every time I go, I know that there is still so much more to see. And I need to see Rahtut every time I go. For me my trips to Bali, how ever long I stay are not fulfilled until I catch up with some one, who I am proud to call my friend, and my trips to bali are like I say, not complete until I see Rahtut, and have him take me, weather it would be on a journey, or even just to say G'day, Rahtut is one of those true Balinese that make Bali such a pleasurable experience; A true genuine sole and perfect ambassador that is the magic of Bali.

Just Quick note to thank you for being such a good tour guide for me and my brother and the good time in bali. Now that I' scratched the surface of bali, I think next time ( hopefully during the june/ july arts festival ) I'd like to see more of the local life up close. I'll keep you posted

My family - wife and 2yr old daughter - hired Agung's services for 1 day while holidaying in Bali in July 2008. We only communicated twice over email (over a month prior to our trip) and he was at the hotel 15 mins ahead of schedule. Agung is a very pleasant man. Speak perfect English and is very knowledgable - about not only things Balinese. We spent an entire day with him - not sightseeing but looking at furniture. If Agung did not know first hand about a place, he would phone a friend and find out for us. What impressed me most was even my daughter - who is very particular about who she wants to talk to or interact with - warmed up to Agung very quickly. Our visit to Bali was wonderful. We selected Agung at bali-agung-tours.com from his web-site. When selecting guide service on the Internet one always has a bit of concern; however, for anyone reading this, please feel confident you have made an excellent choice in hiring Agung to be your driver and guide. The web-site was very nice and adequately covered the many places of interest on Bali. Another aspect important to us is the guides vehicle and his is very well mainted - it looked like a new car. Agung is also an excellent driver. We would not have wanted to rent a car in Bali traffic. The high-light of our first day was the stop at the salt making place and learning how the old way is still very much a way for locals to make a living. We also stopped for some delicious fresh fruit. We visited a couple temples and learned a bit about Hinduism. We enjoyed the stop to learn how the special fabric is made and see some beautiful woven pieces. The second day friends joined us and we had another very enjoyable day. The highlight of day two was our lunch overlooking the beautiful rice terraces in Ubud. In addition to lunch we visited a wood carving place where we purchased a beautiful mask. Other enjoyable stops were a local artwork store and the silver and gold jewelry store.

My wife and I have just returned from a one week trip to Bali  Island.  Using your book (lonely planet), we stayed at the Dhyana Pura Beach Resort in Seminyak . It was a delightful place - better than we expected.

My family went to Bali in June 2009. Having young kids with us, I needed to make sure that the tour guide provides safe and yet enjoyable itenery for the kids. We went to Bali in June 2009 and Agung was our first choice when it comes to hiring a tour guide. G'Day Everyone, First off, let me say that "normally" I hate organised tours, so when my wife booked 3 days of organised tours for our 7 day relaxing holiday in Bali I was not really happy about it. I'm also the type of person that can admit when I was wrong and boy, was I wrong!!!. I have travelled the world and would have to say that without any doubt, Agung Tours are the Rolls Royce of Tour companies. Agung himself is the best tour guide I have ever had the pleasure of meeting. By the end of the 3 days it was like saying goodbye to a dear friend rather than a guide. Nothing was to much trouble and the day was packed with fun and interesting things to see and do. His tour packages are flexible and well priced. We were picked up at 9.00am and didn't get back till after dark on some nights (Sunset at the sea temple and or Jimbaran Bay...well worth the experience with you partner/wife/husband.) What struck me was that pretty much everything was included in the price. All we paid for was entry to the event/park/ride for ourselves and what we ate for lunch or dinner. Vehicle, fuel, cold water, parking fees and guided tours were all paid for in the fee. BTW, the entry fees were really very cheap. The vehicle is clean, comfortable, air-conditioned and very spacious. Agung is the perfect host. Nothing was too much trouble and he even went out of his way to organise a special 25th Anniversary Dinner on the sunset beach for my wife and I at no extra cost. He even organised free pickup and drop off plus an anniversary cake for us. Watching the sunset and having dinner at a special table on the beach with our own singing group, just made the entire night special for both of us. His knowledge of the Bali is excellent and he is really great at recommending things to see and can tailor packages to your needs. I highly recommend Agung and Agung Tours to anyone travelling to Bali for a holiday. He is reliable and trustworthy. We will be using his services again and again and again.
